One of the ways that you can help prepare your child for dance class is by dressing them in clothes that are appropriate for dancing. This means usually avoiding baggy pants, jeans, and shirts with large logos or illustrations. Clothing should be comfortable and movable, and suitable for the dance style they are participating in. It’s a good idea to avoid tight-fitting clothing as well. It’s also a good idea to make sure that your child’s hair is pulled back and out of their face, so they can focus on their dancing.
Other general attire guidelines:
- Avoid pantyhose in favor of dance tights, as dance tights are less restrictive and more comfortable.
- Shoes with hard soles are not allowed at Fancy Feet Dance Studio, as they can leave marks on the floor and are also more difficult to maneuver in.
We also recommend you bring:
- Plenty of water
- An extra scrunchie or ribbon for dancers with long hair
- A towel or two
- An extra set of dance clothes
- A healthy snack
- Extra dance shoes
